A recurring job is a job, including the related costs for labor and inventory, which needs to be completed each year. Use Rollover Recurring Jobs to set the current costs on a new job and reset the recurring job for the next year.
You would rollover a recurring job to create a new version of a job that is performed on a regular basis, such as seasonal projects, routine maintenance, or recurring services. Rolling over the job saves time by carrying forward existing job information, steps, budgets, or settings instead of creating a new job from scratch. This helps maintain consistency across recurring projects and simplifies ongoing project setup and tracking.
1. Open Connect Project Accounting > Jobs > Rollover Recurring Jobs..
2. Use the Recurring Jobs grid to select the recurring jobs that you wish to rollover to the future year.
3. Fill in the new job number, job description, and job type for the job that will receive the current costs.
4. Now, click GO (CTRL+G).
The recurring job is rolled over.
The job type defines the accounting behavior for the related job. Examples of commonly used job types include: Construction, Contribution, Cost of Removal, Maintenance, and Retirement. You can re-use job type from the old job, or you can assign a new job type. You may need to change the job number to assign a new job type if the job type is coded in the job number mask.
The new job description is the description that will be assigned to the new job. You can re-use the description from old job or you can pick a new description.
The Recurring Job grid lists jobs that have been set up as a recurring job and meet the selection criteria. If you change the options in the Include Recurring Jobs With the Following Criteria, click Reload Data (CTRL+R) to update the jobs in the Recurring Jobs grid.
