Step 12b. Enter Transmittal Control Code (TCC) (2024)

These steps finish setting up the electronic file by entering the TCC (Transmitter Control Code). A TCC is issued by the IRS to organizations that will electronically file certain information returns, such as 1099s. The TCC is required to transmit these forms electronically using the IRS Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE) system.
