An Annual Comparison by Reporting Category is a report that compares business tax collection activity across reporting categories over multiple years. The report helps show trends, increases or decreases in activity, and differences between reporting periods.
This report is commonly used to analyze year-over-year performance, review tax collection patterns, support financial reporting, and identify variances across reporting categories. It can also assist with planning, audits, and management review.

This report is included in the 2025.02 release.
1. Open Connect Business Tax Collection > Reports > Annual Comparison by Reporting Category.
2. Select a report definition.
3. If needed, set up the report options to customize the report.
4. Click Print (CTRL+P).
Report dates
Select the report date range.
Include transactions based on
Select the basis for selecting transactions.
Tax return period end date. Select transactions based on whether the tax return was created on or before the period end date.
Payment applied date. Use the date when payment for the tax return was submitted.
Tax return period end date. Filter transactions using the period end date to select tax returns.
Only include the top [x] business for summary A
Select businesses that have the highest tax amounts recorded for the current year. After you select the checkbox, enter the number of records to include in the report.
Reporting category
Select a reporting category: Deductions, Fees due, Gross amount, Taxable amount, Taxes due, and Total due.
