How do I add/remove a disposition type?

A disposition type is a category for collecting dispositions with similar characteristics, features, or functions. You can use a disposition type to track and report transactions. Examples of commonly used disposition types include amended, charge dismissed, diversion, guilty finding trial, reduced fine, sentenced - guilty, and set over.

Use Disposition Types to save the categories the organization will use to record dispositions.

You would add or remove a disposition type to keep the court’s list of case outcome options accurate and up to date. Adding disposition types allows the court to track new judgment or case resolution categories, while removing unused or outdated types helps maintain consistency in case processing and reporting. Courts use this process to support accurate case records, reporting, statistical tracking, and standardized data entry.

NotesNote: You can assign Fine or Fine (No Surcharge) type codes to disposition types.
