How do I count my COBRA employees? (ACA)

When you convert the ACA information from the Payroll application, Connect will print the number of COBRA employees at the end of the report. The number of COBRA employees will print after the number of employees and the number of dependents. Connect will use the employee's benefit information from the Human Resources application to calculate COBRA eligibility.

To count COBRA employees, when one of two scenarios exists:

  • COBRA event date occurs in the tax year being converted and the employee is eligible to receive COBRA for the tax year being converted.

  • COBRA event date occurs outside the tax year being converted and the employee is eligible to receive COBRA for the tax year being converted.
