How do I show my Certifications of Eligibility?

There are several alternative methods of reporting an offer by a large employer member. If your organization is using an alternative method of reporting, you'll want to select the certification of eligibility that your organization will be using. For additional information on certifications of eligibility, go to www.irs.gov.

 

Simplified Offer Methods:

  • Qualifying Offer Method

  • Qualifying Offer Method Transition Relief

  • Section 4980H Transition Relief

  • 98% Offer Method

 

Will you be using any of the simplified reporting methods?

  • Yes, I am using a simplified reporting method. Fill out the section titled Certifications of Eligibility on the ACA subtab, follow the instructions titled Selecting Certifications of Eligibility, in the following section.

  • No, I am using the general reporting method. Skip the section titled Certifications of Eligibility. You do not need to complete this section.

 

Did you make a qualifying offer to any individual employees that you do not want to report the actual cost for that individual employee?

  • Yes, I did. Click to select the checkbox titled Qualifying Offer Method.

  • No, I did not. Do not select the checkbox titled Qualifying Offer Method.

 

Did you make a qualifying offer to 95% of your full-time employees?

  • Yes, I made a qualifying offer to 95% of my full-time employees. Select the checkbox titled Qualifying Offer Method Transition Relief.

  • No, I did not make a qualifying offer to 95% of my full-time employees. Do not select the checkbox titled Qualifying Offer Method Transition Relief.

 

Did you make a qualifying offer to 98% of your full-time employees?

  • Yes, I did. Click to select the checkbox titled 98% Offer Method.

  • No, I did not. Do not select the checkbox titled 98% Offer Method.

 

Are you a mid-size employer eligible for any transition relief?

  • Yes, I am a mid-size employer who qualifies for that one year delay of penalties. Click to select the checkbox titled Section 4980H Transition Relief. You will not be assessed tax penalties in 2015. A mid-size employer employs between 50-99 employees.  

  • Yes, I am a mid-size employer who has a non-calendar year plan year. For example, if you renew in October 2015 then you have a non-calendar year plan year. Click to select the checkbox titled Section 4980H Transition Relief.

  • No, I am not. Do not select the checkbox titled Section 4980H Transition Relief.

 

Selecting certifications of eligibility

1. Open Connect Payroll > Government Reporting > Organization.

2. Click to select the Federal tab.

3. Click to select the ACA subtab.

4. Find the section titled Certifications of Eligibility.

5. Click to select the checkbox next to a Certification of Eligibility to select it. Select all of the certifications that apply to your organization.

The Certifications of Eligibility have been selected and saved.
