Step 3. Set up calculation for IRS tax levy

Set up the IRS tax levy calculations to link the calculation table with the calculation formula for

  • Head of Household

  • Married Filing Jointly

  • Married Filing Separately

  • Single

 

These instructions are for 2023. You may need to update the instructions if you are setting up the IRS tax levy for a different year. 

 

Head of Household calculation

1. Open Connect Payroll > Organization > Calculations. 

2. Click New  (CTRL+N). 

3. Set up the following options. 

  • Calculation name: Head of Household - IRS Tax Levy

  • Abbreviated calculation name: Head of House IRS

  • Calculation formula: IRS Tax Levy Exempt Wages

  • Pay code type: Deduction

 

 

4. Click Save  (CTRL+S). 

 

Married Filing Jointly calculation

1. Open Connect Payroll > Organization > Calculations. 

2. Click New  (CTRL+N). 

3. Set up the following options. 

  • Calculation name: Married Filing Jointly - IRS Tax Levy

  • Abbreviated calculation name: Married Jointly IRS

  • Calculation formula: IRS Tax Levy Exempt Wages

  • Pay code type: Deduction

 

 

4. Click Save  (CTRL+S). 

 

Married Filing Separately calculation

1. Open Connect Payroll > Organization > Calculations. 

2. Click New  (CTRL+N). 

3. Set up the following options. 

  • Calculation name: Married Filing Separately - IRS Tax Levy

  • Abbreviated calculation name: Married Sep IRS

  • Calculation formula: IRS Tax Levy Exempt Wages

  • Pay code type: Deduction

 

 

4. Click Save  (CTRL+S). 

 

Single calculation

1. Open Connect Payroll > Organization > Calculations. 

2. Click New  (CTRL+N). 

3. Set up the following options. 

  • Calculation name: Single - IRS Tax Levy

  • Abbreviated calculation name: Single IRS

  • Calculation formula: IRS Tax Levy Exempt Wages

  • Pay code type: Deduction

 

 

4. Click Save  (CTRL+S).
