Issue
I printed the 941 Report and I want to know what's the line 1 amount? What if it shows a 0 or 1?
Explanation
Line 1 is the number of employees who received wages, tips, or other compensation for the pay period or date range. If you're running the 941 Report for the quarter, line 1 will show the amount for the three months in the quarter.
Connect will find the period that includes the quarterly reporting date. It will round the employees who received a check in the pay period. Your organization may have additional employees working the entire quarter, only employees who were paid will be included in the count.
If line 1 shows the wrong employee count, you will need to troubleshoot the issue before the quarterly 941 report is submitted.
Solution
If line 1 on the 941 Report shows a zero or one, or a number that is different from the number of employees paid during the period, you will need to look at the period date range that includes the quarterly reporting date.
Check the paid employee count for the pay period. You can use the Pay Code Transaction Report - IRS Tax Deposit, at the bottom of the report you will see the total paid employees for the pay period.
Check the pay code calculations for any changes.
