How do I assign a service category?

Use a service category to group together services that perform a similar function. You can define the service category name, abbreviated names that Connect will use when space is too tight to show the entire name, and the display order in the Service Category drop-down list.

Note: Using service categories is optional. You do not need to assign a service category to set up a working service.

 

Before you get started

  • The service category that you want to assign to the service must be saved in the Service Category table. To add a new service category, see the help topic titled How do I set up service categories?

Assigning a service category to a service

1. Open Connect Utility Management > Organization > Services.

The Service Category field is located on the Service tab.

2. Use the Service Category menu to select a service category.

The service category is assigned to the service.
