Prorating a service allows you to only bill a customer for their actual usage instead of billing a customer for the entire billing period. For example, if a customer moves out before the end of a billing period, if a customer temporarily disconnects service before the end of a billing period, or if a new customer starts service after the beginning of a billing period.
You can set up a service to prorate a billed amount by setting up the service with the option to prorate the service.
Set up a frequency code to prorate a service. The service uses the average days on the frequency code to prorate the billed amount. [More]
