If you're filing 1099s, you will need a TCC. If you're filing ACA returns, you will need a different TCC. And if you're filing W-2s, you will need a BSO ID. Filing for a TCC requires several days to weeks to process. Be sure to apply for a TCC early to avoid processing delays.

If you have Electronic W2/1099 add in you will need to apply for an IR TCC code to submit through the FIRE website. For all the information regarding applying for a FIRE IR TCC code go to https://www.irs.gov/tax-professionals/about-information-returns-ir-application-for-transmitter-control-code-tcc-for-filing-information-returns-electronically-fire . If you go the link, it will give you all the information that you need for applying for your FIRE TCC code. You will need to set up an ID.me account to get to the application to apply for your TCC code.
If you do not have the Electronic W2/1099 add in with us, then you are able to file electronically through IRIS. You must manually create your csv file to load. For information on how to apply to for the IRIS TCC code go to https://www.irs.gov/tax-professionals/iris-application-for-tcc. From there you can click on the link to watch a tutorial on how to apply for your code and you can follow the link to access the IRIS application for TCC. For this one as well you will need to set up an ID.me account first.
Visit https://www.ssa.gov/bso/bsowelcome.htm. You will need to set up an ID.me account to receive a BSO ID.
The TCC code for ACA reporting is DIFFERENT than the TCC code for filing 1099s. You will need to apply for this TCC code through the AIRS system: https://www.irs.gov/e-file-providers/air/apply-for-the-affordable-care-act-application-for-transmitter-control-code-tcc
