Zift Error: Service Not Allowed

Zift Error: Service Not Allowed

If Zift is the payment provider used, and the message Service is Not Allowed is received when you try to process a transaction, below is how Zift explains this error:

The card issuer has restricted the card from being used in this type of transaction. This is often due to geographic restrictions, merchant category code (MCC) limitations, or ATM-only usage.

The card may be:

  • Not allowed for international transactions.

  • Restricted to certain merchant types.

  • Intended only for ATM withdrawals, not purchases.

You should ask the customer to contact their bank for clarification and possibly to remove the restriction, or suggest they try a different card or payment method.
