You can use text and variables to format the subject line and body of an email template.
Account Number {AccountNumber}

Tax Return Type {TaxReturnType}
Tax Return Period End Date {TaxReturnPeriodEndDate}
Tax Return Due Date {TaxReturnDueDate}
Here's an example of an email template that Connect will use when the tax return is created followed by an example of what the email generated by Connect will look like.

Subject:
{TaxReturnType} - CREATEDBody:
Account Number: {AccountNumber}{BusinessName},
This is a courtesy email to inform you that the tax return for {BusinessName} was filed on {TaxReturnPeriodEndDate} is now available for you to file.

For example, AnyCity creates the tax return for AnyBusiness on August 17, 2015. Connect uses the email template for Return Created to send the following email to AnyBusiness. The variables are highlighted in yellow.

Account Number: 1010AnyBusiness,
This is a courtesy email to inform you that the tax return for AnyBusiness was filed on 08/17/2015.

1. Open Connect Business Tax Collection > Organization > Organization.
2. Click to select the Email Templates tab.
3. Click to select an email template from the Type list.
4. Click to select the field titled Subject.
5. Click Modify.
The Subject form displays a list of variables that you can use in the subject line.
6. Find the variable name and then double-click the variable name that displays in the column titled Insert Value.
The variable displays in the Message area.
7. Now, enter the text to display in the Subject line.
8. Click before or after the variable to position the cursor in the Subject line.
9. Type in the text.
10. Click OK.
The subject line is saved.
