How do I edit a filed return?

Yes. You can edit a filed return if changes are needed after the return has been submitted. Editing a filed return allows you to correct or update information so that tax records remain accurate.

You might edit a filed return to correct reported amounts, update business information, fix calculation errors, or apply adjustments discovered after filing. Updating filed returns also helps support accurate reporting, reconciliation, compliance, and audit tracking within Business Tax Collection.


Step 1. Change return status to non-filed 

1. Open Connect Business Tax Collection > Businesses > Enter Filed Returns.
2. Click Delete (CTRL+D).
3. Enter the business name.
4. Select the tax return. 
5. Change the return status to non-filed. 

Step 2. Update the return

1. Open Connect Business Tax Collection > Businesses > Enter Filed Returns.
