A business activity describes the type of work, service, or operations a business performs. It helps classify the business based on the products it sells, services it provides, or industry in which it operates.
Business activities are commonly used to determine tax requirements, reporting categories, licensing needs, and applicable fees or rates. Examples of business activities may include retail sales, food service, construction, professional services, or lodging operations.
Examples: Animal Care, Apartments, Auto Body, Beauty, Restaurant, Retail, etc.
1. Open Connect Business Tax Collection > Organization > Business Activities.
2. Click New (CTRL+N).
3. Fill in the options on the form. Use the sections in this help topic to fill in each field. The fields are listed in alphabetical order.
4. Click Save (CTRL+S).
The record is saved.
1. Open Connect Business Tax Collection > Organization > Business Activities.
2. Use the Lookup bar to enter a business activity. Press Enter.
3. Now, you can edit the business activity properties.
4. Click Save (CTRL+S).
The updated record is saved.
1. Open Connect Business Tax Collection > Organization > Business Activities.
You cannot remove an activity when related transactions exist.
2. Use the Lookup bar to enter a business activity. Press Enter.
3. Click Delete (CTRL+D).
The business activity is deleted.
