How do I use Inquiry?

Use Inquiry to view plot records, owner details, and related transactions.

 

Search for plots

Open >  Type in a plot number in the field located on the Lookup bar. You can also Search (F9) for a plot number. Pressing will show the plot's information as well as any related transactions.


Manage filters

Use Manage Filters to sort the information that is displayed in Inquiry. Clicking the button (Filters > Manage Filters) will

  • show the filters that have already been set up, and

  • allow you to set up new filters. 


Make changes to a plot

If you find yourself looking at outdated information in the plot's file, for example, an old email address or telephone number, you can edit the plot properties by launching (CTRL+M).


Refresh the displayed information

After changes have been made to other parts of the Cemetery Management program, such as changing the plot properties or entering a payment or billing adjustment for the selected plot, you may need to update the information that is displayed in Inquiry to show the new changes.

You can click the  button (CTRL+R), it looks like a circle made of a green arrow, to load the new information.


View owner information

Click on the tab to show the owner's contact information, remittance address, attachments and notes.


Add/remove fields on the Detail subtab

You can use the subtab to add fields that are not included on another tab in Inquiry. This option comes in handy when you want to group certain fields together.

To add fields, right-click on the column heading and choose . Now, use the Selection form to move the fields that you want to display on the Detail subtab to the Selected Fields list. You can also use the Selection form to change the order the fields are displayed on the Detail subtab.

To remove fields, follow the same process for adding fields except you'll want to move the fields which you don't want to include anymore to the Available Fields list.


View attachments

Any files, documents, PDF's, images, and so on that have been saved in the vendor's file, or on a purchase order, invoice, or check for the selected vendor, will be available for viewing on the subtab. All of the filenames will be shown in the Description list and you can click on a filename to view the contents of the file. 


View notes

Notes can be attached to the vendor's file or to purchase orders, invoices, and checks for the selected vendor. You can view all of the notes, or add a new note, to the selected item by clicking on the subtab.


View transactions

All of the transactions for the selected plot can be viewed on the tab. You can change the filter to show transactions for

  • Billing adjustments,

  • Billings,

  • Payment adjustments,

  • Payments, and

  • Write-offs
     

How do I sort in ascending/descending order?

You can sort the transactions by clicking on the column headings to sort the information in ascending (A-Z) or descending order (Z-A).

 

How do I filter transactions?

A filter can sort the data to display only items that are found in the filter's selection criteria. Click on the button, it displays on the column heading when the column heading is selected.

 

A fly-out menu displays, like this...

 

Use the options in the fly-out menu to select a value.

  • Use All to remove the filters.

  • Use Custom to include operators such as And, Or, Less Than, Greater Than, Equals, etc.

  • Use Blanks to search for fields with null or empty values.

  • Use Non-blanks to search for fields with a value.
     

To remove a filter select All from the fly-out menu; select the mini-Delete button located next to the filter on the fly-out menu;

 


or click the Delete button at the bottom of the tab.

 

How do I view transaction detail?

Click the Additional Information button to view the transaction detail.
