Enter Checks - Default journal

Issue

Is there a way to set the default journal for check transactions?

Explanation

Set the default journal to the journal used most often to enter checks.

The system will use the default journal to record checks. Each transaction is posted to a journal before being transferred to the general ledger. The default journal is the journal that will be displayed first in Journal menu when you use Enter Checks to enter a new check.

Solution

To select the default journal,

1. Open Enter Checks.

2. Click Options  (F12).

3. Click to select the journal from the Default Journal menu.

Check Options

  • If the journal isn't included in the menu, add the journal to the General Ledger application. After you add the journal to the General Ledger, restart Connect.

4. Click OK.
