How many employees are employed by your organization?
We employ 49 employees or less AND we are self-insured. Use Forms 1094/1095-B.
We employ 49 employees or less AND we are NOT self-insured. No filing is required.
We employ 50 employees or more AND we are self-insured. Use Forms 1094/1095-C.
We employ 50 employees or more AND we are NOT self-insured. Use Forms 1094/1095-C.
What is an FTE employee?
FTE (Full-time Equivalent) employees are those who worked on average 30 hours or more a week for more than 120 days in a year–or the number of employees you expect to work these hours.
Part-time employees are those who worked on average less than 30 hours per week, but more than 120 days per year.
If the total number of hours worked isn’t a whole number, round it down to the nearest whole number.
The ACA checklist can be completed at any time. But you have to wait to start the Payroll Year-end checklist until your organization is done with the last pay period of the reporting year.
That depends on the size of your organization. A small organization will take less time and a large organization may take more time. Plan on taking about 2 to 4 hours to complete the ACA Checklist.
