Can I add comments after the pay period is closed?
Issue
The pay period is closed and I need to add a comment for a leave entry for an employee in the closed period. I made changes to correct the leave pay code calculation and I need to make a note of the date when that happened. Can I do that?
Explanation
You can, but you will need to re-open the closed pay period. Closing a pay period locks the pay period so users cannot enter, modify, or delete entries. If you want to add a comment to the closed period, the period will need to be reopened before you can enter the comment.
Solution
You may need to contact the application administrator for assistance. Go to Organization > Organization and then change the date in the current pay period to the date for the closed pay period. This is how you re-open the closed pay period. Add the comment and then come back to Organization > Organization to change the current pay period back to the actual pay period that is supposed to be the current pay period.
