State Retirement Report (UT) - AUREUS Setup instructions (2025.05)

Instructions for setting up:

  • Pay code changes for the new AUREUS

  • Pick up pay code

  • Additional contributions pay code

Pay Code changes for the New AUREUS

All paid employees are required to be included in the new report. We need to either create a new pay code to edit an existing ineligible pay code.

1. Go to Payroll> Pay Codes.

2. Select an unused pay code and sub code combo, ideally in the 90s with the other retirement codes there.

3. Set the type to Informational.

4. The pay code should be set to Amount and 0 on the employer side.

5. There should not be any pay codes listed on the Used In Calculation or Used For Calculation tabs.

6. This pay code then needs to be added to every active employee that doesn’t have a retirement code.

Pick Up pay code

Pick Up is reported separately now and needs to be calculated as it’s own pay code.

1. Go to Payroll > Pay Codes.

2. Know an unused pay code and sub code combo, ideally in the 50s with the other Tier 2 retirement codes there.

3. Select a current tier 2 pay code, ideally the one currently being used to calculate the pick up with the normal contribution amount.

4. Hit Copy and put in the unused pay code and sub code combo.

5. Set the type to Retirement

6. The pay code should be set to Percent of Amount and the pick up rate on the employer side.

7. Verify the Used in and used for copied the same pay codes.

8. Go back to the combined pay code and set that rate to just the normal contribution amount.

9. This pay code then needs to be added to all active employee that get the pick up amount.

Additional contributions pay code

Any additional contributions is reported separately and needs to be calculated in its own pay code.

1. Go to Payroll > Pay Codes.
