Why don't my transmittals post to the general ledger?

If transmittals are new to your payroll procedure, verify the CDPT journal exists in the General Ledger Journal Code table. The CDPT journal records cash disbursements for payroll transmittals. If the CDPT journal does not exist, the payroll transmittals will not post to the general ledger.

Step 1: Verifying the CDPT journal exists

1. Open Connect General Ledger > Organization > Journal Codes.

2. Click to select the field titled Journal Code.

3. Enter CDPT.

4. Press Enter.

If the CDPT journal displays, the next step is to make sure the General Ledger interface in Payroll is selected. But if the CDPT journal is missing, the next step is to add the CDPT journal to the general ledger.

Step 2: Adding the CDPT journal to the general ledger

1. Open Connect General Ledger > Organization > Journal Codes.

2. Click to select the field titled Journal Code.

3. Enter CDP.

4. Press Enter.

The CDP journal displays.

5. Click Copy (SHIFT+F7).

The Copy Record form displays.

6. Click to select the field titled Copy To Journal Code.

7. Enter CDPT.

8. Click OK.

The CDPT journal displays on the screen.

9. Click to select the field titled Title.

10. Enter Cash Disbursements - Payroll Transmittals.

11. Click Save (CTRL+S).

Caselle saves the CDPT journal. The final step is to update Payroll transactions to the General Ledger to see if the payroll transmittals will update to the General Ledger.

Step 3: Updating transmittals

1. Open Connect Payroll > Organization > Update General Ledger.

2. Do NOT select the checkbox titled Update Transactions That Have Already Been Updated.

3. Set up the options to update transmittals to the General Ledger.

4. Click GO (CTRL+G).

5. Open Connect General Ledger > Journal Inquiry.

6. Use the field titled Journal Code to enter CDPT. Press Enter.

7. Click to select the Detail subtab.

The transmittals will be posted on the Detail subtab. If the transmittals do not display on the Detail subtab, contact customer support for assistance.
