How do I change the password expiration period? (Connect Online)

You can set up the security settings in Connect to force a user to change their user password. There is only one control in Connect but it controls the valid password period in both Connect and Connect Online. You can also allow Connect and Connect Online users to recycle one of their old passwords to use as their new password.

 

Changing the password expiration period

1. Open Connect System Management > Security > Modify Security Settings.

2. Click the Security Settings tab.

3. Enter a number in the field titled Require User to Change Password Every [ _ ] Days.

4. Click Save (CTRL+S).

The number of days a password is valid is updated in Connect and Connect Online.

 

Reusing passwords

1. Open Connect System Management > Security > Modify Security Settings.

2. Click the Security Settings tab.

3. Click to select Allow Password to be Reused.

Users can use the same password again.

Prompting user to change password

When a user's password expires, Connect Online will ask the user to enter a new password. Connect Online will validate the new password. If the new password does not meet the organization's password requirements, a message will instruct the user what to change to create a valid password.
