How do I show or hide maps for work orders? (Connect Online)

Use Connect Online with Esri Map Layers. A map layer adds features, such as hydrants, meters, control valves, mains, lateral lines, and so on to a basemap.

Before you get started


Showing/hiding the map area

1. Open My Dashboard.

2. Click Settings .

3. Click Settings .

4. Set up the checkbox titled Show Map.

 

To hide the area that displays a map, deselect the Show Map checkbox.

To show the area that displays a map, click to select the Show Map checkbox.

Changing the Basemap

The Basemap identifies the type of map: Satellite or Streets. Using Satellite will give you the view a satellite from orbit would see looking down on the earth. On the other hand, the Streets view will show a map with roads and cities. You can switch basemaps to choose the basemap that best fits your needs.

Do this...

1. Open My Dashboard.

2. Use the Applications menu to select Work Orders List.

3. Click Settings.

The Settings pane displays.

 

4. Use the Basemap menu to select a basemap.

Choosing a different basemap will change the map that displays on the page.

Changing map layers

A map layer shows features such as hydrants, control valves, meters, mains, lateral lines, and so on. Adding a map layer will add the selected feature to the map. Removing a map layer will delete the features.

Do this...

1. Open My Dashboard.

2. Use the Applications menu to select Work Orders List.

 3. Click Settings.

The Settings pane displays.

 

4. Use the Layers menu to add or remove map layers.

To add a map layer, click on the Layers menu and then, click to select a map layer. You may need scroll to view the entire list.

The Layers field shows all of the map layers that you have selected.

To remove a map layer, click the X.
