Follow these instructions to make the GIS application accessible to Connect users.
Purchase and install the GIS Interface. Call Caselle sales at (800) 228-9851.
Choose this option if you're organization is using ERSI.
Do this...
1. Open Connect System Management > Organization > GIS Interface.
2. Select ERSI as the Interface.

3. Enter a User Name and Password.
This is the ERSI user name and password.
4. Enter a Delimiter (optional).
A delimiter is a character that marks the beginning or end of a unit of data. A delimited file is a variable-length field where the field length is based on the field's contents. Commonly used delimiters in export files include the comma (,), semicolon (;), and colon (:).

5. If the GIS application is located on the Internet, use the Program/URL field to enter the URL address of the GIS application.

6. Add an application.
Add the applications that will use GIS to the list. Connect will send data from the selected applications to ERSI.
Click a Add a New Interface.

The Add Interface dialog box displays on the screen.

Select an Application.
The drop-down list shows the Caselle applications that your organization is using. Select the application that will use the GIS Interface.

Select a Table.
The tables in the application that support the GIS Interface will display in the drop-down list.
Note: The GIS Interface can only be linked to one table in an application.

Click OK.

7. Next, set up the columns the GIS interface will use to populate the GIS query.
For detailed instructions, see the help topic titled How do I set up columns?
Find out what the GIS app will need from Connect to process the GIS information. You many need to contact the company who created the GIS app if you need assistance.

8. Click Save (CTRL+S).
9. Repeat steps 6 through 7 to add the GIS interface to another Caselle application.
Choose this option if you're organization is not using ERSI.
