How do I add/remove a team? (Timekeeping)

Use a team when people from different departments work together and you want to track the work completed by the team. You can assign a supervisor to the team and assign a person who the supervisor will report to.

In 2020.02 or earlier, to update teams meant using the Connect Payroll (see Teams). In 2020.02 or later, you can use Connect Payroll or Connect Timekeeping to update teams.

 

 

Adding a team

1. Open Connect Timekeeping Organization Teams.

2. Click New (CTRL+N).

3. Use the Team Name box to enter a team name.

4. Click Select next to the Supervisors box to assign a supervisor.

You do not need to assign a supervisor. You can assign more than one supervisor to the team. Only users who are set up as employees in Connect Payroll will be included in the Supervisor selection list.

5. Use the Reports To box to select the team lead.

Only users who are set up as employees in Connect Payroll will be included in the Reports To selection list.

6. Use the Departments tab to assign the team to one or more departments.

Assign the team to a department. You can assign more than one department to a team. The department must be set up in the Departments table in Connect Payroll.

Use the Selection window to select a department and then click OK.

7. Add the team members.

Use the options on the Members tab to add employees to the team. You can only add employees from the departments that you have added to the team. To learn more, see How do I add/remove team members? (Timekeeping)

 

8. Click Save (CTRL+S).

The team is set up and saved.

 

Removing a team

To remove a team, the team must not

  • have an related transactions tied to it, or

  • have any team members assigned to it.

 

Do this...

1. Open Connect Timekeeping Organization Teams.

2.  Use the Team box to enter a team name and then press Enter.

3. Click Delete (CTRL+D).

The team is deleted.
