How do I delete an asset?

Deleting an asset record will remove all of the information about an asset from the Asset Management database. Once a record has been deleted, it cannot be undone. As a precaution, you may want to backup the Asset Management database before you delete any records.

Before you get started

  • Back up the database. (Send Databases)

  • If the asset is linked to transactions, it may be easier to retire the asset. See the help topic titled How do I retire assets?

Deleting an asset

1. Open Connect Asset Management > Assets > Modify Existing Assets.

2. Enter an asset number in the Lookup bar. Press Enter.

3. Click Delete (CTRL+D).

The asset is deleted.
