How do I update a primary asset?

You might update a primary asset to correct or revise important information about the main asset record, such as its description, value, location, department, or depreciation details. Because related sub-assets may depend on the primary asset, keeping the primary asset accurate helps ensure proper reporting, tracking, and management of all connected assets.

 
Do this...

1. Open Connect Asset Management > Assets > Manage Primary Assets.

2. Click Edit (CTRL+E).

3. Enter the primary asset number in the Lookup bar. Press Enter.

4. Now, you can update the primary asset record. What do you want to do?

  • I want to add assets to the primary asset. Click the Add Assets to Primary Asset button; it is located on the Related Asset toolbar.

  • I want to remove assets from the primary asset. Select an asset from the Related Asset list. The selected item is highlighted. Then, click the Remove Assets from Primary Asset button.

  • I want to view the related sub-asset in Inquiry. Select an asset from the Related Asset list. The selected item is highlighted. Then, click the Inquiry button on the Related Asset toolbar.  

The updated record is saved.
