You would use a Protection Type Report to review and analyze the types of hazard or protection classifications assigned to customer connections and backflow assemblies. The report helps staff verify that the correct level of backflow protection is being used based on the degree of hazard or risk at a property. It’s commonly used for compliance reviews, cross-connection control programs, inspections, and ensuring assemblies meet local regulatory requirements.

1. Open Connect Backflow Management > Reports > Protection Type Report.
2. Select a report title.

3. Click Print (CTRL+P).
You can set up these options on the Protection Type Report.
Print protection types for active customers. An active customer is any customer who does not have a final bill date in the customer's record.
Print protection types for inactive customers. An inactive customer is a customer who has a final bill date recorded in the customer's record. You can find the final bill date on the Customer tab > Customer 1 tab in Modify Existing Customers.
Shows a list of the protection types that have been assigned to an assembly. Select the checkbox next to a protection type to include it on the report.
The protection type is a self-validating field so the Protection Types list in the report will include the protection types that have been added to the Protection Types menu in Setup New Assemblies or Modify Existing Assemblies.
