Run Recalculate to add the available owner record to plots missing an owner.
Purchased plots are linked to an owner, but what happens to plots that don't have an owner yet? The unowned plots should be assigned to the available owner record. The available owner is a placeholder that takes the place of the actual owner until the actual owner purchases the plot.
Example: The error report shows location 32-250-10-5 and 32-251-06-7 are not assigned to an owner because they haven't been purchased.
32-250-10-5, No owner found
32-251-06-7, No owner found
Jerry knows the best practice is to assign the available owner record to the unowned plot, so Jerry runs Recalculate. Now, the unowned plots are linked to the available owner record and they won't show up on the error report.
32-250-10-5, Available owner
32-251-06-7, Available owner
The available owner is an owner record that you set up in Setup New Owners. You can choose owner number and name, for example, the available owner number may be 9999 (so unowned plots will show up at the end of the report by owner number) and the available owner name will be Unowned or whatever you would like to call the placeholder owner record.
First, add the available owner record (Setup New Owner)
Second, set the available owner to the new owner record that you just created. (Organization)
1. Open Connect Cemetery Management > Organization > Recalculate.
2. Click to select Assign the Available Owner to Plots Without an Owner.
The link, at the end, shows the owner record that will be assigned as the available owner. To change the available owner record, click the link.
3. Click GO (CTRL+G).
Unowned plots are assigned to the available owner record.
