Why can't I approve requests? (Connect Online)

If you are set up as an approver but you can't click on the link to Approve Requests in the Applications menu or click on the View My Requests to Approve link on the Manager Requests widget, try these steps to troubleshoot the issue. You may need to contact your application or IT administrator.

  • Are set up to approve the request? You need to be set up as an approver on the approval process that's assigned to the request. To learn more, see How do I add approvers to an approval step?

  • Is request assigned to an approval process that allows you to approve it? The request needs to be assigned to an approval process that uses you as an approver. To learn more, see How do I assign an approval process to a request?

  • Are you assigned to an active position? Only approvers who are assigned to an active position will be assigned to approve requests. An active position is a position that does not have a date saved in the End Date box. To learn more, see How do I enter the position end date?
