How do I submit a test file to Empower? (Idaho) (2025.05)

Here's a general guide for submitting a test file to Empower. Reasons why it's important to submit a test file

  • Validate file format and structure. The test file is used to verify your export file meets their exact technical specs. If not, their system may reject the file.

  • Check for data accuracy. A test file allows Empower to validate contribution percentages and limits, confirm employment types, and ensure proper reporting of earnings, service time, and employee IDs.

Before you get started

  • Set up a test file for Empower (State Reports > State Retirement Report) [More]

  • Create an export file for Empower (State Reports > State Retirement Report). [More

The email alerts Jordan Mura the file is uploaded and ready for review.

9. You will receive an email from Jordan Mura to

  • confirm the test file was uploaded successfully, or

  • show the test file upload failed and share why it wasn't successful. You will need to fix the items listed and create a new export file, and then resubmit it.
