How do I verify the Local Tax ID number? (Government Reporting)

Check the Local Tax ID number in the Government Reporting application.

 

Verifying the Local Tax ID number

1. Open Connect Payroll > Government Reporting > Organization.

2. Click the Localities tab.

3. If there are multiple localities, click to select a locality and then use the pane on the right to check the locality's ID number.

Is the Locality ID number correct?

  • Yes, the Locality ID number is correct. You're done.

  • No, the Locality ID number is not correct. If the information is not correct, make your changes to the Locality Tax pay code in the Payroll application. Next, return to Step 6b. Convert year-end tax information in the Payroll Year-end Checklist.

 

Important! Updated information in the Payroll application will not be updated in the Government Reporting application unless you run Convert Year-end Tax Information. Connect uses the information in the Government Reporting application to print W-2s and create the electronic W-2 file.

 

Fixing the Locality ID number

If the Locality ID number is not correct, make your changes to the Locality Tax pay code in the Payroll application. Next, run Convert Year-end Tax Information to update the State ID in Government Reporting.
