Issue

I can't launch the Calculate Payroll routine because this warning message keeps showing up. The warning says that it can't find an active PC/PB journal. What does this mean? How do I fix it?

Explanation

If Connect Payroll is set up to use the Connect General Ledger application, launching the Calculate Payroll routine will search for an active PC and PB journal in Connect General Ledger. The routine will post

  • the check transactions to the PC journal, and 

  • the benefit transactions to the PB journal. 

 

Solution

To fix this error, look up the PC and PB journal in Connect General Ledger. Make sure both journals are marked as active. 

1. Open Connect General Ledger > Organization > Journal Codes. 

2. In the Journal Code box, enter PC. 

3. Make sure the Activate Journal checkbox is selected. 

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3, but replace PC with PB. 

You're ready to launch Calculate Payroll again. If the warning continues to display, contact customer support at (800) 228-9851 for assistance.
