When you set up Connect security to use a Windows user name and password to log into Connect application, the Windows user name is saved with the user rights in Setup/Modify User Rights.
You will be able to see the Windows user name but you will not be able to see the Windows user ID and password. Connect can use the Windows user name that's stored in the Windows Active Directory to log in. Neither Connect or users with administrative rights to Connect will have access to the user's Windows user name and password because they are not saved anywhere in the Connect application.
After you synchronize a Connect user to a user's Windows user name, you can use Setup/Modify User Rights to check if the following information is correct;
Connect user ID
Network user ID
Active Directory user ID
If a Connect user cannot log in who has been set up to log in using a Windows user name and password, you may need to verify the network user ID and active directory setting that are assigned to the user in Setup/Modify User Rights.
1. Open Connect System Management > Security > Setup/Modify User Rights.
2. Use the Active Directory box to select a Windows user name.
The Active Directory box will show the Windows user name for all of the Connect users who have been synchronized with the Windows Active Directory. If Windows user name for a Connect user is not included in the list, make sure you have set up the path to the active directory domain and set up the active directory option in Modify Security Settings. Active Directory box
3. Click Save (CTRL+S).
Have the user log out of Connect and log back in to see if Connect can use the user's Windows credentials to log into Connect.
