How do I review security rights for a group?

Print the Group Rights Report to review the user security for each user who is assigned to a group. The report may help you troubleshoot issues with group security, for example, identifying when the rights assigned to a user interfere with the rights assigned to a group. You can use this report to review group rights for Connect and Connect Online.

 

Printing Group Rights Report - Connect

1. Open Connect System Management > Security > Group Rights Report.

2. Click to select the Include Connect Applications checkbox.

3. Set up the report options.

Filter by groups

4. Click Save (CTRL+S).

The group rights report prints the group rights for users in the selected groups for Connect applications.

1. Open Connect System Management > Security > Group Rights Report.

Options

 

Include inactive users

Review inactive users who are assigned to a group. Usually, inactive users will be excluded from the report. To change the user status, see How do I activate a user?

Print group rights for Connect applications. To view Connect applications, open the Connect applications main menu. To filter the report for group rights assigned to a specific Connect application, see Applications.

Print group rights for Connect Online applications. To filter the report for group rights assigned to a specific Connect Online application, see Applications.

Summarize applications with full access

Use this option when you don't want to see each menu item and task when the group has access to the entire application.

Application summary

This is how the report looks when this option is selected. For example, when the group has access to all of the routines and reports in Connect Accounts Payable, the Group Rights Report will show only one line with the application name.

Application detail

When this checkbox is not selected, the report will print like this. Each routine and report in the Connect application will be listed on a separate line. For example, when a group has access to all of the routines and reports in Connect Accounts Payable, the Group Rights Report will show one line for each report and routine that the group can access.

Bold menus in the application list

Use bold type to make menu names in the report easier to scan.

When this option is selected, the report will print menu names in bold type.

Groups

Filter the report to show group rights for a specific group. The list will show the groups that have been set up in the Group Rights table. To add a group, see How do I add a new group?

 

 

Applications

Filter the report to show group rights for a specific application in Connect or Connect Online.

Filter Connect applications

Use the options on the Applications tab > Connect tab to include group rights for a Connect application, for a menu in a Connect application, for a specific task, or routine. Remember, to select the Include Connect Applications checkbox to show this information on the report.

Use the options on the Applications tab > Connect Online tab to include group rights for a Connect Online application, for a page in a Connect Online application, and for user restrictions to access or use a page. Remember, to select the Include Connect Online Applications checkbox to show this information on the report.
