Warning: One or more of the selected leave rates has a carryover adjustment date in the current period

Issue

I'm calculating leave time and this message shows up. It says, "One or more of the selected leave rates has a carryover adjustment date that falls in the current pay period." How do I fix it?

Warning

Explanation

A carryover adjustment date is the date when unused leave balances (such as vacation, PTO, or sick leave) are adjusted based on the organization's carryover policy at the end of an accrual period. In most organizations, the carryover adjustment date is the end of a fiscal or calendar year.

Calculating leave time without adjusting leave carryover hours when the leave carryover hours adjustment date falls in the current pay period may result in an employee leave balance in excess of the allowed leave hours for the leave rate for the fiscal or calendar year.

Solution

Fix this issue before you calculate leave time for the current period.

  • Adjust the leave carryover hours {Adjust Leave Carryover Hours). This routine will adjust employee leave hours if the employee's anniversary date, calendar year-end date, or fiscal year-end date occurs in the current pay period. Leave hours includes sick pay and vacation pay for employees that are eligible for leave hours. Use Adjust Leave Carryover Hours to adjust leave hours based on the leave rate setup.
