What is the new report base?

We are moving the Connect reports to a new reporting base that uses better reporting tools and a new look and feel. These improvements will make it easier to create reports and decrease the time it takes to generate a report. With each release, a few reports in each application will be updated with the new report base until all of the reports have been updated to the new report base.

Standard toolbar includes Close, New, Delete, Save, Undo, Print, Preview, Application Help, and What's This? Help. 

Updated user interface. Toolbar includes Close, New, Delete, Save, Additional Information, Print, Preview, Undo, Filter, Options (setting the default report and filter), Applicaiton Help, and What's This? Help. 

Default report

Located between the Title menu and record control toolbar.

Added the Filter menu. Users can select the report definitions they would like to see when they are logged in

New. Organize the sections and section options for printing the section, headings and detail; printing totals for the section; printing a line at the end of the seciton, and starting the section on a new page. 

Additional options tab

Tabs for more report options. 

New. Shows more tools for setting up the report. 

Columns tab

Tasks list, Column tab, and Additional tab. 

New look and feel. Replaced Tasks list with a tool bar. Replaced the Column tab at the bottom of the view with a vertical tab, on the right, that also includes the options from the old Additional tab.

Close program after printing

Located on the Print Settings tab. 

Removed checkbox from the Print Setings tab and moved it to the Print Setup window (displays after clicking Print or Preview).

Print options

Standard Windows print options for printer, page range, copies, page setup, and font. 

Includes standard Windows print options and supports print profiles, custom page header and footer, report titles, report date and time, option to print selection criteria at the beginning or end of the report, and option to suppress page numbers. Page Setup: Includes option to fit the report width to span multiple pages. 

Save As/Export

Save options and export options shared a tab. Supports save as PDF, Excel, RTF, and text. Supports export options.

Replaced with the Save As tab and Export tab. 

Save As tab

Includes options to save as CSV, Excel, Excel 97-2003, HTML, Image, MHTML, PDF, RTF, Text, Text, and XPS Document; remove blank columns;  supported image types include BMP, Enhanced WMF, GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and WMF; supports sending report to an email address. 

Export tab

NA

Supports export options for delimited and fixed-length files and uses a new layout to make it easier to set up an export file.
