How do I require billing comments?

Set up a task code to prompt the user to enter a billing comment. The billing comment gives an employee a way to attach an explanation for the hours worked to a time entry. You can print the billing comment on reports and invoices that reference the task code so you'll know why there's a time entry.

 

Before you get started

  • You will need to turn on the Project Accounting interface (Organization Interfaces) and select the checkbox to Include Billing Comments. The Require Billing Comments checkbox will not be available if you are not using the Project Accounting interface.

 

Requiring billing comments

1. Open Connect Timekeeping Organization Task Codes.

2. Use the field titled Task to enter an task code. Press Enter.

3. Click to select the checkbox titled Require Billing Comments.

4. Click Save (CTRL+S).

When an employee creates a time entry for this task code, Connect will prompt them to enter a billing comment. Connect will not save the time entry without a billing comment.
