How do I view time entries?

When an employee uses Timekeeping to clock in or clock out, Timekeeping will record the clock in/clock out as a time entry. You can use Employee Inquiry to view an employee's time summary and pay periods. The time summary shows the employee's time entries on a given date. While pay period displays the employee's time entries by pay period.

 

Viewing time entries

1. Open Connect Timekeeping Employee Inquiry.

2. Use the Employee field to enter an employee's name or number. Press Enter.

3. Click to select the Time tab.

4. Click to select the Time Summary subtab.

The employee's time entries display on the Time Summary subtab. You can click the [+] to view additional detail or click the [-] to hide detail.

 

Filtering data

When you see the Filter mini-button , like this... , you can click on it to change the selection criteria. This is the selection criteria form for filtering hours however, the fields on the form will change based on the filtering type, so the selection form may not look exactly like this if you're setting up the selection criteria for a different type. You can use the options on the selection form to filter the values that display on the screen.

 

Sorting A-Z/Z-A

You can change the column sorting order by clicking on the triangle mini-button next to the column header. Click to sort A to Z. Click to reverse the sorting order to Z to A.

 

Expanding/collapsing sections

Click [+] to show more information and click [-] to hide information. For example, clicking the [+] next to January...

 

... will add the weeks with time entries (highlighted in yellow) to the display.

 

 

You can do this anywhere you see a [+] or [-] mini-button.

 

Grouping by task, activity, or GL account

Use the Group By field to filter time entries by task, activity, or GL account. Changing the Group By value will change the display order of the highlighted row to show the Group By value as the first column in this section.

 

Adding/removing years

Use the Years field to add or remove columns that display time entries by year. When you enter 3, the display changes to show three years, see the highlighted section. Increasing the number will add columns to the display and decreasing the number will remove columns from the display.
