Warning: Invalid templates based on activity dates

Connect Online uses the template that's saved in the employee record as the template the employee will use to enter time worked for tasks and activities. When an activity is deleted from Timekeeping that a template is using, you may receive the warning message: Invalid templates based on activity dates.

Warning message

The warning message lets you know about templates that are assigned to an active position that include an inactive activity. An inactive activity code may have a begin date in the future, an end date in the past, or the template uses an activity code that was deleted from the Activity Codes table. Connect Online only supports templates with active activity codes.

Choose an option.

  • Yes will remove the template with the inactive activity code from active positions that use the template. Choosing this option will not delete activity that is recorded on inactive activity code.

  • No will not delete the template, but you will need to replace the inactive activity code with an active activity code on each position that uses the template before Connect Online can use it.

Replacing an inactive activity code from a template

1. Open Connect Timekeeping Employees Modify Existing Employees.

2. Click to select the Positions tab Templates tab.

3. Click to select a task from the employee position template.

4. Use the Activity box to enter an active activity code.

5. Click Save  (CTRL+S).

Changing the activity code end date

If you are working with an activity code that has an end date, you do have the option of moving the end date to a future date to return the activity code to active status.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Timekeeping Organization Activity Codes.

2. Use the End Date box to enter a new date.

End Date box

3. Click Save  (CTRL+S).
