Tester List/Notices

Use the Tester List to print an index of active testers in the area to provide to customers. Use the Tester Notices to send the selected testers a printed memo. You can print both reports at the same time or you can print them separately, for example, if you want to see who will be receiving a tester notice before the tester notices are actually printed to paper.

Requirements

  • Set up a form in Organization > Forms for Tester Notices. The default notification form for this report is stored in Organization > Notification Cycles.

  • Verify an active customer exists at the location.

  • Determine how many notices need to be printed. Will the customer need multiple copies? What about the cosigner or landlord, if one exists?

Printing a Tester List

Use this report to print a list of testers who will be included on the Tester List based on the selection criteria. You can use this list to verify the names of the individuals or organizations that have been selected as testers.  

Do this...

1. Open Connect Backflow Management > Reports > Tester List/Notices.

2. Select the Print a Tester List checkbox.

3. Do you want to print a line between records?

  • Yes, I want to print a line to separate records. Select the Print a Line Between Testers checkbox.

  • No, I want to print records as is. Deselect the Print a Line Between Testers checkbox.  


4. Do you want to include active testers? An active tester has the tester properties in Organization > Tester set to active.
  • Include active, certified testers. Select the Active Testers checkbox. Then, select the With Current Certification checkbox.

  • Include active testers with an expired certification. Select the Active Testers checkbox and With Expired Certification checkbox.  


5. Do you want to include inactive testers? An inactive tester has the tester properties in Organization > Tester set to inactive.
  • Include inactive testers. Select the Inactive Testers checkbox.

  • Exclude inactive testers. Clear the Inactive Testers checkbox.  


6. Click Print (CTRL+P).

The list prints.


Printing Tester Notices

Before you print tester notices make sure you have a tester notice form ready to go. The tester notice form needs to be saved in Organization > Forms. It tells the report where and how to print the tester's information on the form.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Backflow Management > Reports > Tester List/Notices.

2. Select the Print Tester Notices checkbox.

3. Now, set up the report options.

4. Load the notice paper stock in the printer's feed drawer, if needed.

5. Click Print (CTRL+P).

The tester notices print.


Options

Forms

The testing forms are set up and saved in Organization > Forms. This forms tells the report where to print the tester's information.

Which tester notice do you wish to use?

  • I want to use an existing tester notice. Use the Tester field, on the Forms tab, to select the name of a tester notice.

  • I want to create or edit a tester notice. Click the Edit button, located at the end of the Tester field. 


Intelligent Mail Barcode

You can print a USPS (United States Postal Service) Intelligent Mail Barcode on the form. The options for the Intelligent Mail Barcode are usually located on the Forms tab of a report. You may need to contact the USPS to set up an Intelligent Mail Barcode for your organization.

An Intelligent Mail Barcode allows you to track mail from the time it is sent to the time it is received at its intended destination.


Include active/inactive testers

Filter the report by tester status. A tester is any individual who will record results for assembly tests. An active tester has the tester properties in Organization > Tester set to active. An inactive tester has the tester properties in Organization > Tester set to inactive.

Do you want to include active testers?

  • Include active testers who have a current certification. Click to select Active Testers, then select With Current Certification.

  • Include active testers who have an expired certification. Click to select Active Testers, then select With Expired Certification.

  • Do no include active testers. Clear the Active Testers checkbox.


Do you want to include inactive testers?
  • Yes, include inactive testers. Click to select Inactive Testers.

  • No, do not include inactive testers. Clear the Inactive Testers checkbox.


Mailing and due dates

The mailing date is the date the statement will be sent. If you will print the mailing date or due date on the form, then you need to set up the dates on the report settings.

Do you want to use the current date as the mailing date?

  • Yes, I want to use the current date as the mailing date. The current date is the default mailing date. Continue to the next step.

  • No, I want to use a different date as the mailing date. On the Additional Report Options tab, select a different MM/DD/YYYY from the Mailing Date drop-down list, or click Advanced Options.


Do you want to use the month end as the due date?
  • Yes, I want to use the month end as the due date. Continue to the next step.

  • No, I want to use a different date as the due date. On the Additional Report Options tab, use the drop-down list to choose the next month-end date as the due date. You can also click Advanced Options to change variable the system is using to set the due date. Or, if you would like to select a different day, because the due date falls on a weekend for example, select the Calendar Date option. Then, you can click the Calendar button to choose a different date.


Tester Notice Variables

These variables will print on the Tester Notice. Variables that begin with Backflow Tester will print on the Tester Notice.

Troubleshooting

  • When including Active Testers, a certification status must be selected.

  • If certification dates are not being used and you wish to include Active Testers, use the "With Current Certification" option to include active testers.

  • To see the tester status on the Tester List, add the [Report].Status column to the report.

  • Guidelines for creating forms for use with the Tester List/Notice: Only non-customer specific variables, included in the list of Backflow Tester variables, are allowed.

  • Guidelines for printing an Intelligent Barcode: You will need to add the Backflow Tester Intelligent Mail Barcode to the form AND fill out the necessary information on the Form tabs.
