How do I set up a new owner?

An owner is the individual or family that owns the plot. Use Setup New Owners to add new owners to the Cemetery Management database, then use Modify Existing Owners to update or delete owner records.

Setting up new owners

1. Open Connect Cemetery Management > Owners > Setup New Owner.

If the option to auto-increment owner numbers is set up, the next available owner number displays in the Owner Number box.

2. Set up the owner information.

3. Add plots.

Link the owner to a plot. You can add the owner to an existing plot or create a new plot. To learn more, see Plots.

4. Click Save (CTRL+S).

The new owner is saved.

Options

Owner number

If the option to auto-increment owner numbers is set up, the next available owner number displays in the Owner Number box. If the option is not set up, you'll need to enter an owner number that has not been assigned to another owner.

Name, address, telephone, and email

Enter the owner's name, address, telephone numbers, and email. Connect will use the email address to send emails from the Cemetery Management application to the owner.

Master contact

If there's a master contact record for the owner in Connect System Management, you can link the owner's information in Cemetery Management to the owner's information in the master record.

Plots

Link the owner to a plot. You can add the owner to an existing plot or create a new plot.

The new plot will show the available owner as the default owner. To assign the plot the new owner, you will need to replace the available owner with the new owner.

Adding an owner to an existing plot

1. Click Add an Existing Plot.

2.  Use the Search window to select an existing plot.

The Search window displays a list of plots that have been set up and saved in the Plots table. To add a plot to the list, use the option to Create a New Plot.

3. Click OK.

The plot is linked to the owner.

Creating a new plot to add to the owner

1. Click Create a New Plot.

2. Use the Setup New Plots view to add the plot information.

You can add as much or as little information as you have on hand. You do need to add the plot location to save the entry.

3. Click Save (CTRL+S).

4. Switch back to the Setup New Owners view.

The new plot is linked to the owner.
