Error: Start date after pay period end date

Issue

The primary position has a start date after the pay period end date. 


Explanation

This error occurs when 

  • the employee has a start date or hire date after the pay period end date, or

  • the employee does not have current exceptions, or

  • there are exceptions for the pay period, but the option to create checks for the employee was declined. 


Solution

To fix this error, check

  • if the pay period end date is correct. (Calculate Payroll)

  • if the start date on the employee is correct. (Modify Existing Employees) The start date should be before the pay period end date.
