Services
Add a service to a one or more customer's account. You can add one or more services to a customer's account using Modify Existing Customers or Batch Add/Delete Services. If you need to add the service or services to more than one customer account, it may be faster to use Batch Add/Delete Services.
The utility clerk for City ABC needs to add a new electric utility to three customer accounts for customers 100, 110, and 120.
The clerk uses Batch Add/Delete Services to add the new electric service to all customers who have service for water, garbage, and sewer.
Before proceeding, back up the current files. Always make a back up of the database BEFORE running routines that modify or delete transactions. See the help topic titled How do I back up the database?
1. Open Connect Utility Management > Customers > Batch Add/Delete Services.
2. Click to select Add Service.
3. Select the Service.
This field displays the services that are set up in Utility Management. Click to select the service that you'd like to add to the customer.
4. Select the customers to add the service to by selecting services already on the customer accounts.
You can choose which customer accounts to add the service to by using the services that are already attached to the customer's account. You can also use the Selection Criteria to select customers by customer number.
What do you want to do?
I want to add the service to all customers. Click to select Add to All.
I want to add the service to customers based on the customer's services. Click to select the service found on the customer accounts that you'd like to add the service to. To select more than one service, press and hold the CTRL key and then click on another service.
6. Select the customers to add the service to by selecting the customer number.
Use this option to select customers by entering the customer numbers that you'd like to update.
In this example, the routine will add the service to customer accounts: 214501, 110701, and 214901.
Do you want to add a service to a specific customer number?
Yes, add the service to a specific customer number. Double-click the Value field next to Customer.Customer number to enter the customer numbers.
No, use the properties I have selected to add the service to customers. Do not change the Value field in the Selection Criteria.
7. Click GO (CTRL+G).
Caselle uses the properties that you have selected to add the service to the selected customers. When the routine is finished, use Customer Inquiry or Modify Existing Customers to make sure the service has been added to the correct customers.
