Instead of saving a report with a report date range that uses a date type, such as calendar day, calendar month date, etc., you can set up a report to prompt the person running the report to enter the report starting and ending date. When you run a report that prompts for a report date, the Report Dates Prompt dialog box will ask you to enter the report date range.
After you enter a starting and ending date, Connect uses the date range you entered to print the report. The Prompt for Date tool lets you create a report that allows the person running the report to quickly change the report starting and ending date without editing the report definition.
1. Open a report.
2. Find the section titled Report Dates.
3. Click the link titled Advanced Options.
The Advanced Options form displays.
4. To change the starting date type, use the From Date Type menu to select Prompt for Date.
5. To change the ending date type, use the To Date Type menu to select Prompt for Date.
6. Click OK.
The report will prompt the person running the report to enter the report dates.
