I found errors on the leave time report that I need to fix. How do I do that?

Issue

I found an error on the leave time report that prints when I calculate leave time. How do I fix it?

 

Solution

First, identify why the leave calculated the wrong amount. 

  • Are the leave hours recorded correctly? You can find this information on the leave time report. You may also need to verify the leave hours taken with the employee. If the leave hours taken need to be adjusted, use Enter Leave Time Adjustment to enter the correction. 

  • Is the employee using the correct leave pay code? You can find this information on the leave time report. If you need to make changes to the employee pay code, use Modify Existing Employees > Pay Codes tab.

  • Is the leave pay code using the correct leave rate? You can find this information on the leave time report. If the leave rate needs to be updated, use Organization > Leave Rates. 

 

Second, reprint the leave time report to verify leave time is calculating correctly. To save time, you can change the selection criteria to only calculate leave for the employee that you're working on.

Choose an option: 

  • run Calculate Leave Time with the Print option set to Report Only, or

  • print the Leave Time Register.
