The GL account for pay code is invalid

Message: The GL account FFDDOOO for pay code ##-## is invalid. ***The check will be aborted.***

 

Explanation: When a GL account is entered and your using the interface to Connect General Ledger, Connect will verify if the GL account exists in the General Ledger application. If the GL account cannot be verified, then Connect cannot save the entry unless the entry is updated with a valid GL account.


Troubleshooting: The warning shows three common errors that may cause the GL account for pay code is invalid message.


1) Verify the GL account in the employee's pay code and the allocations are correct.

The pay code in the employee record may be linked to an invalid GL account. Use the Pay Codes tab in Modify Existing Employees to look up the employee pay code and check the GL account that's tied to the pay code. To learn more, see How do I verify GL account on employee pay code?

 

2) Verify the General Ledger interface in Organization is set correctly.

Review the General Ledger interface to the Payroll application to see if the interface, update method, default GL accounts, and so on are set up correctly. Go to the Interfaces tab > General Ledger tab in Payroll > Organization. To learn more, see How do I turn on the General Ledger interface?

 

3) Make sure the account has been set up in the General Ledger.

If the GL account on the employee pay code is valid and the General Ledger interface is set up correctly, check if the GL account is set up in the chart of accounts in the General Ledger application. To open the chart of accounts, open Connect General Ledger > Organization and then select Chart of Accounts.
