Error: Customer is part of a consolidated billing setup without an active master customer account

Issue

 A customer using consolidated billing does not have an active master customer account. 


Explanation

If a customer is using consolidated billing for utilities, the customer must have an active master customer account. The master customer account links the customer accounts that are being consolidated and the master customer account is the account that is billed. 


Solution

Check if 

  • there's a master customer account for the consolidated billing. 

  • the master customer account is active. 

  • the customer account is linked to the master customer account. Use Services tab > Consolidated Billing tab in Modify Existing Customers to review master customer number for each consolidated billing service.
