How do I advance bill a customer?

You can advance bill (bill in advance) a customer in the current month for service that the customer will use in the future month. When you pre-bill a customer, the customer pays for a service before using it.

  

Setting up a service to advance bill

Bill service for the future period as the billed amount in the current month.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Utility Management > Organization > Services.

The Advance Bill checkbox is located on the Service tab.

2. Click to select the checkbox titled Advance Bill.

When this service bills, Connect will bill service for the future period as the billing amount for the current period.

What happens when a service that is advanced billed is refunded?

Since the service has been billed in the prior period for the current period, the refund will include any days remaining in the current period after the disconnect date.
