How do I bill penalty on final disconnect?

When a service is terminated at a service address, in other words, a final disconnect date is saved in the customer's account, Connect can bill a penalty on a permanently disconnected service.

Note: The Bill Final Disconnect checkbox is only available on a penalty service.


Setting up a penalty service to bill penalty on a disconnected service

Use this option to bill penalty on a permanently disconnected service. A permanently disconnected service is a service with a final disconnect date saved in the customer's account.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Utility Management > Organization > Services.

The Bill Final Disconnects checkbox is located on the Service tab.

2. Click to select the checkbox titled Bill Final Disconnects.

When this service is disconnected, Connect will continue to bill penalty until the service balance is zero.

Setting up a penalty service to omit the disconnect date on a disconnected service

Using this option will allow you to record a final disconnect date on a service that is being penalty billed without printing the disconnect date on the penalty billing record.

Do this...

1. Open Connect Utility Management > Organization > Services.

The Bill Final Disconnects checkbox is located on the Service tab.

2. Click to deselect the checkbox titled Bill Final Disconnects.

When a service that is being penalty billed is disconnected, Connect will not print the disconnect date on the penalty bill.
